Spas For Aromatherapy

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Aromatherapy is the delivery of millions of fragrant air bubbles giving a soft tissue massage. It releases beneficial aromas into the water, without sacrificing water quality. It can be highly beneficial to an individual’s health and well-being.

A slice of lemon,  freshly cut lavender or the smell of rain - aromas can be evocative and highly therapeutic. They can make us feel calmer or more energetic, alter our moods and help us think more clearly.

Spa-Rite have a large range of spas that offer this calming and healing option. And if this does not suit you, be sure to surround your own basic spa with fragrances such as:

  • Jasmine – promotes confidence and self esteem
  • Lavender – eases insomnia, depression and worry
  • Lemon - stimulates the mind and spirit
  • Vanilla – aids relaxation by calming the mind and soothing emotions
  • Eucalyptus – invigorates the senses and enhances mental clarity and concentration
  • Cherry Blossom – evoke nostalgia and freshness

Spas For Reflexology

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

The benefits of massaging the hands and feet go beyond comforting relief for just those areas. A spa can be a great way to make the most of the benefits of reflexology in your own home.

We know in China, India and Egypt specific points on an individuals feet and hands are manipulated to affect healing in other parts of the body. Specialists all over the world identified each channel’s reflex points and their corresponding muscles, organs and functions and plotted detailed maps of the hands and feet.

Reflexology involves the application of deep pressure to these reflex points in order to lessen calcium obstructions and free the nerve pathways. This is one of the basic principles of reflexology for relaxation.

The warm water promotes relaxation, enhancing the effects of gentle pressure being applied to the reflex points on the body. Your spa model may have the opportunity of foot rests with jets that conveniently massage all areas of the feet which contain more than 7000 nerve endings.

Using the power of the water jets will target specific pressure points and provide deep tissue massage. There is also the option for stationary and rotating jet streams, and individual comfort control.

Get in touch with Spa-Rite today, and we will guide you in the right direction to purchasing a spa that will make the most of reflexology and it’s fantastic health benefits.

What Is A Swim Spa?

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

A typical swim spa uses propellers, jets and/or paddle wheels in order to create a current so individuals using the swim spa can swim without moving forward in the water. It is a great way to save space in your backyard, rather than installing a whole swimming pool. Swim spas can be built indoors, or in your  backyard.

A swim spa can accomodate people of many different fitness levels, from beginners to experts. The current system can be easily adjusted to suit any level of swimmer; or can be turned off completely so you can enjoy the spa part of the swim spa. Swim spas can also be used for aerobic exercise and hydrotherapy. Like some swimming pools, swim spas can be equipped with stereo systems that are audible underwater – so, a great way to get fit, have fun and relax!

Swim spa models come in either in-ground or above-ground varieties, and tend to be made from fibreglass, stainless steel covered with a vinyl layer or acrylic. Generally, a swim spa is 4-6 metres long, 2.3 metres wide and 1.3 metres deep; however Swim Spas can be found in many different sizes to suit your requirements. You can select a range of options including  seating, or a section at the other end of the swim spa dedicated to relaxing in a traditional hot-tub styled spa.

In terms of operation, a swim spa is very similar to a regular spa. They come equipped with a shell, pumps, heaters and filters, to maintain your swim spa effectively. It is important to always consider the costs of running and maintaining your swim spa whilst budgeting. Come on in to Spa-Rite today, or give us a call, and we will help you to select the perfect swim spa for you!
