As time passes and we get older, our joints do not move like we remember from our younger years. Its true, we all feel it, the older we get. Our backs ache a little more, our knees are sore by the end of the day, our neck feels pinched and achy. Maybe its time for you to consider the benefits that a home spa can bring to your body.

Benefits of Hot Water Hydrotherapy

Medical doctors have always instructed patients to use moist heat for a variety of injuries, arthritis or any form of joint pain, including some sports injuries. There are several conditions and/or ailments that can benefit from the soothing moist heat of a home spa, which reduces the pain in joints by reducing inflammation, which in turn will increase the blood flow to those areas.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Multiple Sclerosis- reduce symptoms

Improve blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes

Lower blood pressure

Fibromyalgia

Tendonitis

Scoliosis

Carpal tunnel syndrome

and Bursitis

Promote Respiratory System Healing

There are other ailments, which are not joint related, that can benefit greatly from the use of an Oasis Spa; such as asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis and upper respiratory infections. The moist heat of the spa helps to open the airways and also helps the body’s white blood cells to circulate more thoroughly to the affected areas. This promotes healing and also increases respiration.

History of Hydrotherapy

Hydropathy (hydrotherapy) was first documented in the 5th century B.C. by the Greek physician, Hippocrates, and it was referred to as the “water cure” which utilized the use of water, at any temperature, as a means to promote healing. Hydrotherapy was recorded in ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian history as being used for medicinal purposes and has carried the same purpose through the centuries; hydrotherapy has evolved by the use of technology, yet yields the same results. To promote the overall health of humanity.

For those that suffer from a disease, ailment or injury that could be helped or alleviated through the benefits of the use of an Oasis Spa can put there trust in Spa-Rite, when it comes to purchasing their spa. The knowledgeable and courteous staff at Spa-Rite are available to help you choose an Oasis spa that is right for you.

Located in Melbourne, at Shop 3 200 Canterbury Rd, Bayswater, visit their showroom or get additional information from their website on the benefits of the Oasis Series of Spas today. Your body will thank you!

If you are interested in knowing how to maintain your spa, and have it working to the best of its abilities at all times, Spa-Rite can help you out. Developing a handy routine is a great way to keep your spa in top shape and keep it ready to be used at any time!

1. Spa Filters

Regular maintenance of your filters is required to help keep your water crystal clear. It is recommended
to clean your filters by hose with high pressure (Not a high pressure cleaner) on a weekly basis.
Paying special attention to each fold in the cartridge to remove any debris that has been filtered from
your water. Through customer feed back, we have found that the best method is to use a water wand, which can be purchased at Spa-Rite.

It is suggested to clean your filters after 15 person hours in
your spa by soaking them in Filter Clean . Soak for a minimum of 3 DAYS .
Hose filters thoroughly with clean water after soaking, making sure to get in between each cartridge fold
to the core of the filter. This will ensure the removal of all the body oils and fats, cosmetics, lotions and
hair etc.
TIP: Why not purchase another set of filters for your spa so while the first set are soaking and cleaning,
you can place the other set in and still use your spa.

2. Spa Draining

It is often asked how regularly you should drain your spa:

The usual answer to this is, how often has the spa been used?

It is recommended to dump the water in your spa every 3 to 6 months.
However, if your spa has had higher bather load than average, or longer periods of operation, then this
may be required at an earlier time.

So what is average use and bather load?
Customer feed back: We believe this to be 2 people for a period of 20 minutes, three times a week.

3. Spa Equipment

It is very important to understand and know how your spa equipment operates. This way, you are able to maintain the spa system, and recognise when something is wrong with your spa. Know any signals your spa may have, and where to find your control panel.

4. Spa Covers

Spa covers are a great way of keeping your spa clean, keeping the heat in and keeping the children safe! They can save a lot on your electricity bill, and keep your mind at ease. If you use your spa or hot tub cover often, ensure it receives a good wash in warm soapy water, followed by a wipe down with 303 aerospace protectant once a month, to keep it fresh.

5. Spa And Chemicals

If the bath in your home was being constantly used by your family and friends with the same water in it, time and time again, how would you feel? This is the way in which to approach your spa – you don’t have to be a scientist to figure it out! Sanitizing your spa is a must - Ensure to keep your pH levels and alkalinity balanced, as this will help prolong the life of your spa’s heater.
