Installing A Spa Indoors

Some people select to install a spa indoors in order to obtain more privacy. If that sounds like you, there are a couple of things to consider before you decide to purchase a spa for a room or area in your home.

Firstly, you need to consider where it is going to go in your home. You will need to locate a room or remodel a room that can stand damp and humid conditions. Due to this, carpet is not an option that is advised – but can be easily pulled up and removed if necessary. Enclosed porches or basements are a great option.

The room also needs to withstand the weight of a full spa. The best way to identify whether the room can withstand thosands of litres is by having a contractor or structural engineer come and check it out. If the room is based on ground floor do not assume that it will be able to support the weight – it is vital to have the area checked out.

If you find that you have a suitable room or area, you also need to consider how you are going to get the spa into your home. Many models are too large or awkard to fit through doorways, so be sure to speak to your spa provider about the dimensions and your home. The room you select will also need a place in which you can drain the water when it requires a change.
